Survived By: She is mourned by her adoring daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Elwin Sykes, Ernestine and Roland Mack and Marilyn and Robert Jones; grandchildren, Emmett (and wife Tahia), Eliot and Emerson Sykes, and Damario, Roland, Jr. and Rolanda Mack; sister, Mamie Hawkins; aunt, Ruby Alexander; and a host of other family members incuding, James Easter, Terry and Mary Nash, Catherine Gage, Lois Hughes, Mary Moore, Albertine Hayes, General Trass, and Karen and Charles Teamer.
Affiliations: As a member of Greater St. Matthew AME Church, she was in the choir and missionary society, served as a class leader and transported many others to Sunday School and church.

Bossier City -- Rebecca Bryant Miller passed away Monday, September 26.  Born Rebecca Allie Bryant on June 10, 1923, she was raised in Hanna, LA, with her sisters Mamie and Essie (who pre-deceased her) by their grandparents, Rendy and Anthony Bryant. After high school, Rebecca became a dental assistant and moved to Shreveport, where she met Ernest Brannum Miller, then a teacher and coach at Central Colored High School.  The couple married in 1951. During the 1960's, Rebecca began work as a caseworker for the Community Action Program.  Later, she served as the director of the Caddo Parish Head Start Program.  After retirement, and after the 1988 death of her husband, she worked for 13 years as a regional trainer and evaluator for Head Start.As a member of Greater St. Matthew AME Church, she was in the choir and missionary society, served as a class leader and transported many others to Sunday School and church. She is mourned by her adoring daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Elwin Sykes, Ernestine and Roland Mack and Marilyn and Robert Jones; grandchildren, Emmett (and wife Tahia), Eliot and Emerson Sykes, and Damario, Roland, Jr. and Rolanda Mack; sister, Mamie Hawkins; aunt, Ruby Alexander; and a host of other family members incuding, James Easter, Terry and Mary Nash, Catherine Gage, Lois Hughes, Mary Moore, Albertine Hayes, General Trass, and Karen and Charles Teamer.  Special thanks from the family to everyone at Horizon Bay, Bossier City, LA.
